HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Police say they are trying to find a hit-and-run suspect in a crash that killed a pedestrian.

The Houston Police Department said it is investigating a deadly hit-and-run crash that happened Thursday night in the 2400 block of Bissonnet Street.

HPD said that the victim was standing or walking in the street when an unknown vehicle struck him. The driver allegedly did not stop to render aid.

Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the man dead at the scene, police said.

Police say the 57-year-old victim has not been identified.

The department said anyone with information on the wanted driver or vehicle is urged to contact the HPD Hit and Run Unit at 713-247-4065 or speak anonymously with Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
