WEST HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) - Final preparations are underway for the annual Chanukah Fire on Ice celebration hosted by the Chabad of Greater Hartford this weekend.
The event will feature an 8-foot tall menorah ice sculpture as its centerpiece. The sculpture will be lit for each night of Chanukah, creating fire on ice.
The celebration will include a gift drop by the West Hartford Fire Department and a performance by Jewish music star Yoni Z, which is new this year.
Rabbi Shaya Gopin of the Chabad of Greater Hartford said the event aims to create light during dark times.
