East Farms Elementary School library is filled with toys -- everything from Bluey stuffed animals to Taylor Swift-themed gifts.

Third grade student Trevor Smith decided to bring in toy cars.

“I know a lot of people out there really like cars because it’s what a lot of kids like, because cars are really good things and they have a lot of different features,” Trevor said.

He is a member of the Student Council. The group is leading the annual initiative to collect toys for NBC and Telemundo Connecticut, and Comcast’s Connecting You to Joy Toy Drive happening Saturday morning .
