The University of New Orleans was put under an evacuation order on Friday after receiving a phone call from a former student who allegedly threatened to burn down a campus building, according to Flood Protection Authority Police Superintendent Joshua Rondeno.

“The University of New Orleans reached out for assistance. All my guys are out,” said Rondeno. "We are currently investigating this verified active threat."

He said that the New Orleans Police Department and the Louisiana State Police are also involved.
