A 66-year-old Hackensack resident was fatally struck by a bus in North Bergen, authorities announced Friday, Dec. 12.

At 6:30 a.m., on Tuesday, Dec. 9, North Bergen police responded to the pedestrian strike at Bergenline Avenue and JFK Boulevard East, Acting Hudson County Prosecutor Wayne Mello said.

Alan Harris was transported to Palisades Medical Center where he was pronounced dead on Wednesday, Dec. 10, Mello said. The bus remained at the scene, Mello said.

The Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit is investigating the incident with assistance from the North Bergen Police Department.
