Brantford Bulldogs forward Marek Vanacker, the Canadian Hockey League’s leading goal scorer, has been invited to Team Canada’s World Junior Hockey Championship training camp.

Originally left off the preliminary list of players invited to attend the camp in Niagara Falls from Dec. 12-22, Vanacker was added after it was announced on Friday that San Jose Sharks forward Michael Misa would be unable to attend due to injury.

Misa, the second overall pick in the 2025 NHL Entry Draft, has been recovering from a lower-body injury he suffered in November. Hockey Canada said Misa would stay in San Jose for a few more days to work with team doctors and therapists.

Misa was the top scorer in the Canadian Hockey League last season but did not get invited to be a part of Canada’s entry at the WJHC.
