Amazon.com Inc. is offering same-day delivery for perishable groceries in parts of Metro Detroit.

The retailer first rolled out the service in August in a number of communities nationally, allowing shoppers to add fresh groceries to their same-day orders along with other basic items. But that perishable grocery offering wasn't initially available in Michigan.
