Aston Villa supremo Damian Vidagany has questioned the decision to schedule a trip to West Ham so soon after a European game.
Villa defeated Basel 2-1 in Switzerland on Thursday night thanks to goals from Evann Guessand and Youri Tielemans to extend their winning streak to eight matches.
Unai Emery’s side are third in the league phase of the Europa League after six games and now turn their attention back to the Premier League, where they also sit third in the table.
A game against 18th-placed West Ham in the capital isn’t what Vidagany would have wanted at 2pm on Sunday.
Villa’s director of football operations has suggested a home game or later kick-off would have been more appropriate.
