After putting themselves behind the eight-ball to start the Greater Ontario Hockey League season, the Brantford Titans have worked their way back into a playoff position.

Losing their first nine games to start the 2025-26 season, Brantford defeated the Ayr Centennials 4-1 on Thursday to even its record at 12-12-3-0, which places them sixth in the 11-team Eastern Conference.

Now instead of worrying about making the playoffs, the team can start thinking about what they can do in the post-season.

“We quickly climbed out of a hole to a team doing some good things,” said coach Kevin Beech.

“If we buy in, grow as a team and stay healthy, I think this is a team that can make a run in the playoffs. But first things, first. We have to take care of one game at a time.”
