UPDATE: Investigators have determined that the gummies ingested by students at Saddle Ridge Elementary Middle School did not contain any illegal substance.
Walker County Sheriff Steve Wilson said four students were transported to the hospital in late October after exhibiting severe nausea and lethargic motor skills after eating said gummies.
Their illnesses prompted a criminal investigation into how the gummies made it on campus.
Emergency room doctors had initially said the students had overdosed on Kratom, but when deputies collected a gummy found near the area they fell ill and sent it off for professional testing, the report they got back said otherwise:
