King Charles spoke about something that "troubles him deeply" as he gave a rare update on his cancer diagnosis tonight. Taking part in Channel 4's joint Stand Up To Cancer campaign with Cancer Research UK, the monarch, who was diagnosed with an undisclosed form of cancer in February last year, filmed an emotional video from Clarence House.
He spoke about how a cancer diagnosis is understandably "overwhelming" , but reflected warmly on the kind treatment he has, and continues to receive. The King also opened up about the vital importance of early detection for patients, giving them the "precious gift of hope" as they confront the disease.
The shockingly high numbers of those behind on their cancer screenings was something that the monarch admitted "troubled" him.
