The Cornwall Colts’ penalty kill was lacking Thursday, as the Ottawa Jr. Senators left the Ed Lumley Arena with a 5-2 win.
December has started with a win-lose pattern for the Colts — the team won 5-3 against Hawkesbury on Dec. 4 , splitting the home-and-home series with the Hawks after a 5-4 loss on Dec. 5 . The Colts doubled up the Pembroke Lumber Kings 6-3 on Dec. 7 .
For the first Friday in months it sees Cornwall on the bottom half of the Central Canada Hockey League’s (CCHL) Jr. A table , its 15-13-1 (wins-losses-overtime losses) good for 31 game points and fifth place. It’s a crowded middle of the standings though, with fourth-place Smiths Falls just two points ahead and the Kemptville 73’s sitting with 35 points.
