Ashton United pride themselves on being at the heart of the community and their latest initiative is helping give some of the most vulnerable members of society an opportunity to thrive.

Thanks to grant funding from league sponsors Pitching In's Trident Community Foundation, the NPL Premier Division club have set up a new health and wellbeing program designed to offer those with mental health issues and learning disabilities, as well as people suffering from loneliness and young people, the chance to feel part of team.

The initial £1400 sum given to the Greater Manchester outfit has been used to pay for a supervisor to run and oversee three-hour long sessions on a Thursday for an initial eight weeks.
