One of the most loved actors, the He-Man of Bollywood, the legendary Dharmendra, passed away at the age of 89, leaving behind a legacy the world would cherish. Dharmendra was one of the biggest stars of Bollywood, but when he first came to Mumbai to become a hero, he had no connections in the industry. His close friend Shatrughan Sinha revealed how Dharmendra first came to the city for a contest by a magazine.
In an interview with Aaj Tak, Shatrughan Sinha shared, “He came to Mumbai without any contacts or anything. He was called for the talent contest. He was told by them to come in first class and they said they would bear all the expenses. But he was so cautious that he came in third class, in case they didn’t bear the expenses, he wouldn’t be able to afford it."
