She said the court’s verdict is extremely disappointing. “The accused in the Soumya case is serving life imprisonment until death. This crime is even more brutal than that,” she said.

Mini stated that she did not attend the court to hear the verdict because she did not want to face further humiliation. “That was also my way of protesting. During the trial, I did not get enough opportunities to speak. The prosecutor had demanded the maximum punishment,” she added.
