EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - Larry Richmond will go on trial next week for the murder of Evansville firefighter Robert Doerr.
A hearing took place Friday to determine if Elizabeth Fox-Doerr, Robert’s widow who was convicted in the murder last year, will testify.
Her attorneys filed a motion to quash, which means they asked the court to overturn Fox-Doerr’s subpoena to testify.
Her attorneys claim the defense attorneys acted improperly, bribing her and offering legal assistance if she testified.
They are also worried Fox-Doerr could incriminate herself on charges dropped in the first trial if her testimony does not match perfectly.
The judge denied the motion, meaning Fox-Doerr will have to testify, but she will be able to invoke her 5th Amendment right on any incriminating questions.
