Syracuse, N.Y. -- Onondaga County lawmakers will vote Tuesday on paying $25,000 to settle a lawsuit brought by a woman who accused a sheriff’s deputy of stalking and sexually assaulting her.
The unidentified woman accused former Deputy Brian Lynch of twice kissing her and lifting up her dress while he investigated a domestic incident she reported in March 2023, according to court documents.
The woman said Lynch repeatedly contacted her after the initial encounter. At one point, he tried to break into her home, the lawsuit alleged.
Lynch pleaded guilty in 2024 to second-degree harassment in connection with the incident. He was sentenced to a one-year conditional discharge and received no jail time.
