TRAVERSE CITY, MI -- Police are releasing more details about the foot chase and gunfire that ensued after two teenagers allegedly fled from a fatal shooting and a string of larcenies in downtown Traverse City last month.

Lawrence Boyd IV, 32, was fatally shot while working at a city parking ramp on Saturday, Nov. 15. His body was discovered the next morning. The slaying, which was captured on surveillance video, was linked to an overnight crime spree on East State Street.

Eugene Thompson, 17, who is accused of fatally shooting Boyd, is also facing charges of assaulting, resisting, or obstructing a police officer.
