DANVILLE, Pa. — Wreaths Across America is a national day of remembrance to honor and remember our veterans. Volunteers across the country place wreaths to honor their ultimate sacrifice.

"We'll have a whole ceremony on how you do that, and what we do is, we put the wreath on the grave, and I always stand back and salute them, and then you say their name, because their name might not have been said for a year," said Jack Gerst, Wreaths Across America.

The event takes place on Saturday at cemeteries throughout our area. In Danville, 2,800 wreaths will be placed at 45 graveyards.
