LORAIN, Ohio — An Elyria woman who pleaded guilty to her role in earlier this year in Lorain was sentenced to five years in prison on Friday in Lorain County Common Pleas Court.

In October, Lynda Wright, 54, admitted to charges of failure to stop after an accident, tampering with evidence and vehicular homicide after she was indicted by a Lorain County grand jury in May in connection with the February fatal hit-and-run crash . The crash killed 50-year-old Grafton resident Luis "Poppi" Wheeler.

Wright was sentenced to 30 months each for the charges of failure to stop and tampering with evidence. Those terms will be served back-to-back for a total of five years, along with a 180-day vehicular homicide sentence that will run concurrently with the sentencing for the other charges.
