SALT LAKE CITY – Immediately following the Friday afternoon news that University of Utah head football coach Kyle Whittingham will be stepping down, social media users began chiming in.

Whittingham, the winningest coach in program history, with a record of 177-88 (.668), is stepping down after 21 seasons as the Utah head coach and 31 years total with the program.
