CEDAR FALLS, Iowa — As extreme cold approaches, Cedar Valley's public safety departments are preparing to stay operational through the harsh weather.
Police and fire crews in Cedar Falls are ready for action this weekend, regardless of the temperatures dropping below zero.
The Cedar Falls Fire Department assures residents that cold weather will not delay fire and rescue operations. They are collaborating with road crews to ensure that firefighters can reach calls without delay.
"Our public works will take care of the roads," said Zach Andersen, a Cedar Falls firefighter. "We have plows out, salt, things like that. We still plan on having all of our normal responses with all of our trucks."
