LINCOLN – Nebraska Gov. Jim Pillen said Friday that the state is reviewing the impacts of a recent executive order by President Donald Trump that seeks to stop states from regulating artificial intelligence and to limit related legislation in the future.
Trump signed the order late Thursday, saying it’s to keep the U.S. competitive with China in the race for dominance in the burgeoning AI industry. The order instead favors a federal framework for the technology.
“It’s got to be one source. They can’t go to 50 different sources,” Trump said during a signing ceremony.
