LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - The Calcasieu Parish District Attorney’s Office has rejected the third-degree rape charge against Oliver Ramos.
Ramos, 34, of Rosharon, Texas, was arrested Oct. 24 after being accused of raping a woman while she was sleeping.
The victim told detectives she went to a bar with someone she recently met, who she knew only as Oliver. The woman said she passed out later that evening and woke up to the man raping her, according to CPSO.
Investigators later identified Ramos as the suspect.
On Oct. 24, Ramos was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center. He was released the next day on a $400,000 bond.
The DA’s office ultimately rejected the charge against Ramos, citing insufficient evidence.
