INDIANAPOLIS — Some Indianapolis students have new shoes after a giveaway at Daniel Webster School 46.

Kroger teamed up with the Indiana Pacers and Indiana Fever for the 21st "Shoe Day" giveaway at the school. Students picked out a new pair of shoes and socks, along with a hat, gloves and a toy for the holidays.

Teacher Jabyn Isom said it was a full-circle moment for him.

"I definitely feel it on a personal level, because I used to do it when I was younger," Isom said. "So getting to see it as the teacher and helping them walk through it and understand how that feels is really awesome that they get to experience it as well."

Kroger says it has given away 9,000 pairs of shoes to students since Shoe Day started in 2003.
