Hearing loud noises near San Diego County's northern border? It's won't be Santa's sleigh making its way down to San Diego.

Starting midnight Friday through Dec. 21, live-fire training with high-explosive munitions will be conducted at the Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton. At anytime throughout the day or night, noises from training may be heard, base officials said.

Atmospheric conditions may amplify the sounds of explosions, making them heard up to 50 miles away, base officials added.
