Minnesota Wild fans won’t have to wait very long to see their new star defenceman in action.
Quinn Hughes will make his Wild debut on Sunday when the team hosts the Boston Bruins (6 p.m. ET / 3 p.m. PT on Sportsnet, Sportsnet+), general manager Bill Guerin announced during a press conference on Saturday.
Minnesota is in action on Saturday against the Ottawa Senators, but will give Hughes a day to adjust before throwing him into the mix.
Hughes, of course, was dealt by the Vancouver Canucks to the Wild on Friday night in exchange for forwards Marco Rossi and Liam Öhgren, defenceman Zeev Buium and a 2026 first-round pick.
The 2023-24 Norris Trophy winner will join a deep Minnesota blue line, which already includes notable defencemen Brock Faber, Jared Spurgeon and Jonas Brodin.
