INDIANAPOLIS —
Indiana Republicans who rejected efforts to redraw the state's congressional maps could face backlash from Washington.
The GOP-led State Senate decisively voted down a redistricting bill that would have favored their party.
The Trump administration had pressed them to redraw the map ahead of next year's primary.
The president is downplaying the result.
"It's funny because I won Indiana all three times by a landslide. I wasn't working on it very hard. It would have been nice. I think we would've picked up two seats if we did it. You had one gentleman, the head of the Senate I guess, Bray or whatever his name is. I heard he was against it. He'll probably lose his next primary. Whenever that is. I hope he does.," said Trump.
