MONROE, La. (KNOE) - Sterlington is once again Division III non-select state champions. The Panthers beat Jena 34-20 Friday afternoon to bring another title back home.
The Panthers scored 27 straight second half points after trailing 12-7 at halftime to seal the win.
Senior linebacker Tre Burch had a pick six with five minutes left in the 4 th quarter to put the Panthers out of reach.
T.J. Burch started the scoring in the game with a 3-yard run, he ended with 105 yards and two touchdowns, earning Most Outstanding Player. Sterlington rushed for a total of 287 yards.
This is Sterlington’s fourth title since 2016.
