BT says Wi-Fi router mistake 'sends half your signal away from your house' View 3 Images

BT has cautioned customers that they could be broadcasting half of their wi-fi signal outdoors if they position their hub or router in a 'common' spot. According to BT, this blunder happens when people place their router beside a window.

Whilst many people might consider it practical to position their router discreetly on a windowsill or table near the window, it could restrict their signal. Instead, BT recommends placing the router in a central position. A guidance page on BT's website states: "Try and position your hub in the centre of your home - you'll reduce the number of walls slowing down your signal, which means you can get better wi-fi in more places.
