HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Kansei Matsuzawa, the "Tokyo Toe," has become the first-ever University of Hawaii player to be named to a Walter Camp All-America First Team.
Matsuzawa learned that he won the first team honors on ESPN’s College Football Awards Show Friday.
The Walter Camp All-America team is the oldest college football All-America team, marking its 136th edition in 2025.
However, the UH kicker missed out on the Lou Groza Award, the nation’s top college football kicker, which went to Oklahoma’s Tate Sandell.
Previously, UH legends wide receiver Davone Bess (2007) and Colt Brennan (2006) were second-teamers.
The Tokyo Toe finished the regular season 25-of-26 in field goal attempts, which included breaking the most field goals in a single-season and most consecutive field goal
