The Delhi government has enacted the Delhi School Education (Transparency in Fixation and Regulation of Fee) Act, 2025, establishing a new system for regulating private school fees. Approved by Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena and notified on Wednesday, the Act was passed by the Assembly four months ago.

The Act outlines rules on permissible fee categories, accounting standards, and restrictions on extra charges, while prohibiting capitation fees and any collection beyond what is legally allowed. Schools are required to clearly disclose fee components and maintain separate accounts for each category, reported PTI.
