Rail passengers have been facing disruption this morning after a fault with the signalling system in the Darlington area led to cancelled journeys.
The issue, which occurred earlier today (Saturday, December 13), has now been resolved and all lines have reopened.
However, Northern Rail has warned that services through Darlington may still be delayed by up to 20 minutes or cancelled.
Routes affected include trains between Middlesbrough and Newcastle via Darlington, as well as services running between York and Newcastle. Journeys to and from Middlesbrough and Saltburn are also impacted.
