PITTSBURGH —
Pittsburgh police are investigating an overnight shooting that sent a man to the hospital in critical condition.
Police were called to the 600 block of Chauncey Street in the city's Middle Hill neighborhood for three separate ShotSpotter alerts, totaling 17 rounds. Advertisement
When police arrived at that area, they found a vehicle with bullet damage and multiple shell casings.
Several blocks away, near the intersection of Wylie Avenue and Junilla Street, officers found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was rushed to the hospital in critical condition and taken directly into surgery.
According to police, the initial investigation shows the victim was returning to his vehicle when the shooting happened.
Police are still investigating.
