From next year, waste bins across Suffolk will be collected every three weeks as part of a nationwide scheme.

It was announced last year that from June 2026, Babergh, Mid Suffolk, and East Suffolk councils will all be changing their waste collections to every three weeks, instead of the current two.

The change in collection service is part of the Simpler Recycling legislation, which will come into fruition in 2026, but will be rolled out by all three councils in June of next year.

All three councils agreed on a new separate weekly food waste collection service, three-weekly rubbish bin collections, and a twin-stream recycling model in September 2024.
