Product labelling plays a crucial role in helping customers make informed choices especially when it comes to packaged food items. However, a viral video circulating on social media has raised serious questions about the accuracy of food labels in India.

The video shows an Indian man examining a packet of dried kiwi fruit of brand “Radhe Mart" he had purchased from a local store. While checking the label, he was stunned to find that the product description defined “kiwi" not as a fruit, but as a “flightless bird".

In the video, the front of the packet looks completely normal. It lists nutrition information like fibre, carbohydrates, protein and calories per 100 grams, just like any other dried fruit product.
