The Boston Red Sox came into the offseason needing to add an impact bat or two in the middle of their lineup. Star third baseman Alex Bregman is a free agent right now, and the Red Sox need to re-sign or replace him this winter.

The Red Sox were reportedly in the market for slugger Pete Alonso, but they lost out on him to the rival Baltimore Orioles. Baltimore was able to land Alonso on a $155 million deal, and the Red Sox haven't been able to add the star they need.

Chris Cotillo of MassLive reported the Red Sox were targeting Houston Astros slugger Isaac Paredes in a huge trade this offseason.
