The second day of the Paul Terry Classic saw Emporia High’s teams split their matchups against Basehor-Linwood on Dec. 12. The Lady Spartans came into the game off a loss to Spring Hill and against Basehor-Linwood, their inexperience played a role in the 51-17 loss. The Spartans came into their match against Basehor-Linwood winning a close affair over Spring Hill, and they played a complete game, coasting to a 57-46 victory.
Despite the final score for the Lady Spartans, they began the game well defensively, forcing Basehor-Linwood to turn the ball over a ton, but as was the case all night, there was a lid on the basket offensively. They held a 5-2 at the end of the first quarter, then Basehor-Linwood utilized their full-court pressure.
