Pieology Pizzeria, a fast-casual chain known for its customizable, stone-fired pizzas that customers build from scratch — similar to Subway or Chipotle — has filed for bankruptcy. According to QSR Magazine, the chain’s parent company, The Little Brown Box Pizza, issued the filing earlier this week.

Founded in 2011, the concept currently operates approximately 103 locations, including stores in across California, Florida, Hawaii, Nevada, New Mexico and Texas.

In the bankruptcy filing, the company listed between $100,000 and $500,000 in assets and $1 million and $10 million in liabilities.

QSR reported that only eight of its stores are not owned by franchisees and are not affected by the bankruptcy. The existing restaurants are expected to remain open while the bankruptcy process procee
