STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- With meteorologists forecasting the first snow of the season starting Saturday night, you may want to get a jump on hiring a snow shoveler if you’re unable to do it yourself.
A winter weather advisory has been issued for Staten Island from 10 p.m. Saturday through 1 p.m. Sunday calling for two to four inches of snow in the overnight hours, according to the National Weather Service .
The heaviest snowfall is expected from late Saturday night through Sunday morning. Meteorologists are warning motorists to prepare for slippery roads and reduced visibility during the overnight and morning hours.
A rain or rain/snow mix is expected to start Saturday night before changing to all snow around midnight.
