CLEVELAND, Ohio — A lake-effect snow warning and winter weather advisory are now in effect across Northeast Ohio as heavy snow, blowing snow and poor visibility threaten travel throughout the weekend.
The National Weather Service in Cleveland has issued a lake-effect snow warning for Cuyahoga, Lake, Geauga and Ashtabula counties, in effect from 10 a.m. Saturday through 7 a.m. Monday.
Forecasters expect 5 to 10 inches of snow, with the greatest accumulations expected in eastern Cuyahoga County, southern Lake County, inland Ashtabula County and much of Geauga County.
Winds gusting up to 35 mph could lead to blowing and drifting snow, further reducing visibility and making travel very difficult at times, especially during heavier snow bands.
