This week, a jury heard hours of testimony from police officers and family members about the events leading up to the death of 33-year-old Haleigh Martinez.
Her half-brother, Vincent Hackett, 27, is charged with second-degree murder for allegedly shooting and killing her on Jan. 20. He is being tried in front of District Judge Matthew Castano. The trial began Monday and is expected to last six days.
The shooting took place at Hackett’s mother’s home in the 600 block of Carey Avenue after Martinez entered the home. The jurors heard differing testimony on what transpired just before Martinez was shot.
