Wild general manager Bill Guerin has become quite the character since assuming the role in 2019. He added quite the notch to his belt on Friday night when Minnesota acquired star defenseman Quinn Hughes via a blockbuster trade.
Minnesota sent Vancouver quite the package in exchange for Hughes, which included Marco Rossi, Liam Öhgren, Zeev Buium, and their 2026 first-round pick. Guerin spoke to the media on Saturday and explained the decision.
"Because it's Quinn Hughes. I don't know what the right moment is, but if you wait for it, you're gonna miss it. I don't know if the weather had to be warmer or something. When it's a player of this caliber, the right time's always now," he said.
