CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - The Clarksville Police Department (CPD) is investigating a shooting that left a teenager injured on Saturday.

Officers responded to Chinook Circle for reports of a shooting. At the scene, officers found a 16-year-old suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper thigh.

The victim was taken to a Clarksville hospital. CPD said his injury does not appear to be life-threatening.

“Preliminary investigation indicates this was not a random incident, and there does not appear to be an active threat to residents in the area or the community at large,” CPD said.

Officers are on the scene investigating.

CPD is asking Chinook Circle residents who have outdoor security camera to check them and contact 911 if they find anything related to the shooting.
