All professional athletes know and understand that trades happen and life goes on in sports, but even the most veteran Oilers felt a serious jolt after Edmonton’s goalie swap with Pittsburgh.
Watching their good friend pack his bags and leave for good after five seasons and two Stanley Cup runs stung Stuart Skinner’s teammates hard. But knowing there might be an important gain rising from this pain has them optimistic about what the deal might mean.
