A burst water pipe just outside the Brantford Farmers’ Market on Saturday morning couldn’t extinguish activity at the popular city destination.
When market manager Bruce Jacobson arrived at work early that morning, he noticed a large trench dug on Icomm Drive as part of ongoing construction was flooded, forcing the market building to go without running water for most of the day.
Though the road was closed, no damage was done to the building or the parking area, and the market continued its day as scheduled.
“First, I tried to let everybody know about the water issue and tell the vendors they weren’t going to be able to sell the products they’d need water to sell, and they could decide if they were coming or not. Fortunately, everybody is here,” said Jacobson, who posted an update to th
