LEWISTON, Idaho — One person is dead after an explosion Saturday morning in the parking lot of an Old Navy in Lewiston.

The explosion involved a U-Haul truck and damaged nearby businesses, including Old Navy, the Courtyard Marriott and other nearby areas.

Officials concluded that propane leaking within a the truck's cargo box caused the explosion. Investigators could not determine the exact source of ignition. They report the U-Haul was carrying flammable items like gasoline and propane tanks.

The Lewiston Fire Department, Lewiston Police Department, Idaho State Police, the City of Lewiston Streets Division and Nez Perce County all responded to the incident.
