Thiruvananthapuram: The Congress-led United Democratic Front’s strong showing in the 2025 Kerala local body elections was reflected in the performance of several senior political figures.

Former Congress legislators KS Sabarinathan and Anil Akkara secured wins in their respective wards, while former Left Democratic Front MLAs K.C. Rajagopalan and R. Latha Devi also returned to elected office through local bodies. The lone exception was veteran Congress leader E.M. Augusthy, who suffered a narrow defeat.
