MIAMI — Amare Nugent’s first season at American Heritage ended in celebration.
The four-star 2027 cornerback, who transferred from Somerset Academy before the season, helped the Patriots win their second straight championship with a 33-28 victory over Orlando Jones High at Pitbull Stadium in Miami.
“It feels great,” Nugent said. “We’ve been through a whole bunch of adversity this year, so it feels great to win, finally.”
Now that the high school season is over, Nugent said he plans to focus more on his recruitment. He said he is looking for schools that can develop him as a player. Nugent had 25 tackles, one sack and two interceptions this season.
