The UK is set to be hit with a freezing polar blast over the festive period. WXCharts has forecast temperatures dropping to -2C in places, bringing wintery weather on December 28.

It will be coldest in south Scotland (Dumfries, Galloway), where it will get down to -2C. The rest of south Scotland (Edinburgh, Glasgow) and parts of central Scotland (Dundee, Aberdeen) will be between 0C and -1C. It will also be between 0C and -1C in the south of England (Bristol, Oxford, Luton, London) and East Anglia (Norwich, Ipswich). The rest of the UK will be between 1C and 4C.
